The only good reason I can think of to not ride track is not being able to do it as often (everyday) as we like.
Edited to add that I am on a hiatus from track buffoonery now that I'm a man of leisure. I am having to satiate my swerve craving with back road antics these days.
If you take to the track, those guard rails, gravel, blind turns, ad infinitum that abound on the street seem a lot more threatening. Erring on the side of caution seems more prudent than ever.
You will become quicker and smoother than your pre-track self but you will ride further from your limits on the street and that may be considered a buzz kill by some.
