Thanks!

Hey everyone, I'm a new member thats bought a used Wee-Strom a few month ago and have been checkin out Stromtrooper.com sense.
I just wanted to say thanks again to a fellow motorcyclest who helped me out yesterday when I had a flat tire. He said he was a Strom fan and is a member on this site. If I remember right he goes by the handle Jmking?
Yeserday on the final leg of a 400 mile ride I had a flat rear tire, 10 miles from the nearest town. With no way to fix it or a cell phone and it starting to getting dark, I waved down a fellow motorcyclest JmKing he offered to go back into Johnson Village and get me a couple of cans of fix a flat. When the spray in fix a flat didn't work he pull out a plug kit and a gave me his last plug so I could fix my tire. He then followed me back to Johnson Village so I could air up my tire.
It's people like him and his soon to be new bride that will go so far out of there way to help a stranger that make riding a motorcycle so great!
Now I need some help from the rest of you, when does the farkle thing stop! I've already added hand gaurds, center stand, new fork seal (had one start leaking after I bought it) and sonic springs, a JCW trunk and painted muffler heat shield. It doesn't stop, I now have to get me a tire plug kit and small compressor. Then wire my Wee for electrical accessories so I never have to go thought that helpless feeling again. Then I've got to do something for the wind buffing, my ears are still ringing from yesterdays ride. I love this bike, my girlfriend is just going to have to understand......

Where in Colorado are you? There seems to be a growing contingent around here. Maybe we need another meet and ride and lunch day. Last one was in Morrison at the Blue cow. Of course after we met in Deckers and rode to Morrison.

I was just down there. Camped last week at the Reservoir.
We met last time at Deckers. Several ridders form the Springs. If you post a note in the Co area, looking for Springs Strom owners, you will get several responses. We could meet a Deckers sometime. Average copuchino, but it's an excuse.

Windshield Buffeting

Hi Dash - Thought I would post a possible solution to the windshield buffetting problem on the V Strom. I removed the windshield bracket and put a 10mm thick spacer between the frame and the bracket on the lower hold downs - one on each side - had to use longer bolts. This reduced the angle of the windshield and opens up the vent to help reduce the buffeting effect. I am 5'11 and am using the stock windshield in its highest position. Found the bushings and the metric screws at ACE. Dont try the over size stock windscreen from Suzuki - the buffeting gets worse.

Thanks oldmanb777, all I need is an excuse.....any. Kind of busy the next few weekends but I'll do that.

DaveinTucson, that's the thing I like about the internet, you can always find someone that has come up with a fix. I'm about 5'9 so it should work for me. Thanks for the help!

Man the bleeding doesn't stop, I was a little concerned about riding on my rear tire when it went flat and they are showing some wear so I talked myself into a new set of Anakee's. So you know what I'll be doing this weekend........I can't wait.
