Where ya headed this weekend?

My wife and I are going the the Catskills, we where gonna go to the Adirondacks, but would be pressed for time. Its at least 6 hours there from home, and the place is huge.
Figure 1 overnighter in the Catskills, I am packing freeze dried food for the roadside stops, peanuts, and slim jims, tea, and coffee. Along with my Peak 1 stove. Trying to safe some $$ because of the gas, might make for a more memorable trip. Any must see suggestions?
Just go my new Karoo 2 mounted up, so looking forward to some dirt roads away from any crowds.

Lehman Hot Springs

Actually, a NFS campground just down the road. My lady is meeting friends there, she left a little while ago. I'll leave after work tonight, some unknown roads in nowhere NE Oregon, perhaps deer...

...packing my own gear in case I get to tired to continue.

Been working 55+ hour weeks for a couple of months now and really need some relaxation!

Keep'er safe!

Not as far

Heading to the Twisted Throttle open house in RI tomorrow and returning the same. Otherwise sticking close to home base. Of course I'll be out riding at least one of the last two days. I do have to spend sometime with my wife as well.

I'm headed to Idaho to a caving regional. I was trying hard to take the bike, but the weather is going to be kinda rainy and I don't have my side cases right now for all the gear, so... looks like I am taking the truck.

I was packing some last night. Dear god, I take too much stuff when I take the truck. I had 2 big Rubbermaid containers loaded up, and it didn't include food, sleeping bag, backpacks, and the big duffle bag with the tent and etc. But I've been caving/camping on the motorcycle before, so now I am left wondering how I pulled it off last time, hah!

Stay safe and enjoy it out there.

I'm jealous. I have to work all weekend, not to mention my bike's out of commission until my new stator arrives.

That's me, hence the nick. Although, really, any caver who has been around just referrers them themselves as a caver. Spelunking sounds too much like the noise a novice makes when they repel off the end of their rope...

It's easy enough to get into. Just dig around online for a 'grotto' near you (ie, a caving club) and show up to a meeting or two. I'm sure they will be happy to have you. http://caves.org/ has a lot of info.

Early in the morning we are headed to Black Mesa, OK. about 375 miles one way. Sunday we plan on hitting Texas, Colorado, New Mexico and Kansas as well as local sight seeing. Sounds impressive but the county that Black Mesa is in borders all those states so we should be able to hit 5 states in about 2 hours. Monday is the ride back after we pack up camp.
