Newsflash-Harleys passed by aggressive bicyclists on Dragon-film at 11

The East coast rally in NC was a blast. Some of the best roads I've ever ridden, even the overcrowded(with cruisers) Dragon. It was great seeing all of the stroms, and how they were all differently farkled. No 2 were alike and they really reflected their owners different styles and takes on riding. The Strommers were really a great bunch, and good riders. I never saw other bikes piled up behind a slow moving strom. It kind of made me proud. At first everybody at the campground wanted to know what the big deal was about stroms, what they were for... By the end of the rally I think they decided that they are some kind of sportbike. I know that I was surprised by what mine could do Anyway, if you were there, could you post your handle below so we could have some names to match up with the faces. Maybe next year some nametags.

I didn't notice the T shirt. Wait, were you a middle aged male with some grey hair, riding a strom?

Isn't that like trying to identify a HD rider by saying "That guy with the leather vest and ponytail"?

Don't get me started on HDs, just put a roof on it and some golf clubs in the back and you have its highest purpose.

I like Harleys, I really do, they look sound feel pretty good. I just don't think that they belong at the Dragon. They really were being passed by bicycles. If it wasn't so funny it would have been embarrassing. To be fair they were really fast bicycles. Maybe they should just keep to the right kind of like mopeds do.

Talking Dragon

I didnt know a thing about the rally till I got down there. I ride a black Strom and was riding with a guy on an older Buell all weekend. I talked to a couple of Strom riders and everyone I met seemed cool. It was a great weekend after the rain stopped. My buddy had a black bear run out in front of him on the foothills parkway, it was a pucker moment but pretty cool. Oh and one last thing.... I followed those bicyclists for a little ways and have to admit on the down hill areas those guys were very fast, not that they woulda passed me but gotta give them props. You wouldnt catch me on anything human powered through there.

I rode the Dragon in the rain last week and had to pass some Harley riders who were riding that much slower due to the wet, I damn near stalled the bike in first gear we went around one corner that slow. It was dangerous, really dangerous following behind someone that incompetant.

I was there, and had a blast. I was one of the youngest Strommers there I believe at 29, I'm tall (6'6") brown hair and goatee, black 2005 DL1000 with black ammo cans as side cases. You might have seen me teaching a Cornhole class on Saturday evening.
