Question ONE LEGGED Open Road Moto-Stand

Sherm here.
Lately I have been getting queries about how much packing space the Open Road Moto-Stand takes up (packing the bike for a trip). So I played around with minimizing the space. What I came up with is the ONE LEGGED Open Road Moto-Stand (OLORM for short).

If you have the stand, the only extra thing you need is a small block of wood. You pack half the stand plus the block.

Here are the details: http://www.shermworks.com/onelegorm.pdf

Once set up the OLORM is very stable.

If you give it a try, post how it works out.

Regards,
Sherm

PS As you can see, the demo bike is not a DL. I sold mine and am beginning to regret it.

Well, there's problems like Cheapness, and sherms is far cheaper and works awesome. There's also the problem of idiots who shall not be named crashing their centerstand into rocks and fubaring the mounts so I... THEY could never mount a centerstand again.

i had the same question. the strom is fitted with lugs for a centerstand ... why not put those puppies to use?

i would not buy a bike without a centerstand.

In my experience though, the centerstand is not as stable as the sidestand... at least a sidestand with a broad foot or a "puck" on soft surfaces.

Makes a much bigger triangle.

Its also lighter, but if I didn't have quicklifts and an actual motorcycle lift at home then I would definitely need a stand.
