Back armor

Okay, just to be clear so I don't get flamed about not doing so, I did use the search function. No luck. I am sure if I spent hours roaming through every possible thread I would find something eventually but I think it is far easier just to come out and ask the question. I am trying to find a good back armor piece that I could put in a Kilimanjaro 4.0 and a Kilimanjaro Air jacket. Anybody have any ideas?

If neither one of these will fit - rumor has it they'll custom make one to fit your jacket.

I went with this instead - and left the original back protector in both my AST and my Bushwhacker. Got mine at Moto Liberty though.

Decent or the best - lol

You can always get a back protector that you wear underneath like mine :

don't even notice its there when you are geared up.

Now flying the Team Orange colors (yes, I went to the dark Dakar side and bought a KTM...)

I upgraded the back armor in my rev'it jacket last week. The local BMW/Triumph dealer had 2 CE-rated back pads that fit perfectly. The Knox pad was $25 and sorta bulky, and the Vanson was $50 but low-profile and with some ventilation holes, and felt stronger. It's the standard size vanson pad. They're shaped like shape B at that link.

"I am enthusiastic over humanity's extraordinary and sometimes very timely ingenuities. If you are in a shipwreck and all the boats are gone, a piano top buoyant enough to keep you afloat that comes along makes a fortuitous life preserver. But this is not to say that the best way to design a life preserver is in the form of a piano top.
I think we are clinging to a great many piano tops in accepting yesterday's fortuitous contrivings as constituting the only means for solving a given problem." - R. Buckminster Fuller
