How do I remove the tank bra?

When I bought my vstrom new I had the dealer install the tank bra for me.

Now I need to remove it to wash the bike and so I'm not sure how to go about taking it off. Do I have to remove the cowling?

Actaully all you need to remove is the seat and the two plastic boom-a-rang looking pieces just below the tank. There are metal tabs sewn into the 'bottom rear' of the tank bra on each side that can be reached once the seat is off. They can be bent straight to remove them.

The two front corners and the two top fasnters are just hooked in place. The top ones can be slid towards the center to remove them.

Hmmm, hard to explain. Need pics...

Do you want lift the bra or remove it? If you want to lift it just remove the seat and lift the tabs. If you want to remove it there is more work involved. To remove it you need to remove the small side panels and also the centre panel at the front of the tank. If all you want to do is wash the tank, do what jra-xp says. It's not hard to completely remove, but it's not necessary just to wash the bike. The only time I remove mine is when the bike goes into winter storage.

Thanks

Thanks. I ended up just removing the boomerangs to lift the bra up as suggested.
