I just about had enough… time for a FJR1300.

I’m feed up. I need a more comfortable bike that has ABS. No word on when the Wee ABS are due in…if…they come in. I have the funds for a R1200RT (my other choice) but finding it hard to justify the cost of purchase and ownership of a BMW. So now…methinks I’m trade my SV650 in on a 08 FJR1300 ($11,900 OTD).

Somebody please talk me out of it….please.

Sorry, can't do it. The FJR is a georgeous bike. Pull the trigger on it and never look back!

Have you considered the Bandit 1250S ABS?

Seems to be getting great reviews. I am >< close to getting one myself instead of a Wee-Strom.

It's not like the 2 bikes are even in the same league. Do what you have to do.

Different bikes different uses.
If the sort of riding that you do suits the FJR then that is what you should have been looking at all along. If you intend to do and adventure riding then and you buy the FJR then all I can say is good luck.

If you're looking at the FJR1300, why are you not considering the Connie 1400??

FJR=Old Technology
Connie=Where it's at.

I'm just sayin....

BTD.

I have a R12ooRT. I like it a lot. It is a great touring bike and it loves the twisties. I have compared the Yamahammer FJR to it, and the Beemer seems to have a much better build quality. The Yammy seems "cheap" in all ways compared to the Beemer. I currently have 21,000 miles on my RT. Absolutely no problems with it. I guess if money is an issue, go with the Yammy. Otherwise, get the Beemer. This R1200RT is my 6th Beemer. Great bike (did I already say that?)

I also have a Wee-Strom. Love it too. Completely different category of bike. Don;t know why you are comparing it to the RT.

After checking them both out, the concours was the only one with drool on it. If i wasn't doing some offroad and had the extra dough, it would already be mine..J.R.

When I speak of comfort, it’s in reference to a naked SV650. I don’t want to go through another winter early morning to work riding season on a naked bike. I would prefer a BMW R1200RT…but the cost…. I would have loved the Connie 1400 (looks better in person than in pictures). But the connie feels very, very heavy (not as much as the ST1300) and the OTD price of $13.999 is $2K more than the FJR. I could do a lot with 2 grand.
