dl1000 shock on a dl650?

Can you put a 1000 shock on a 650?

Are you talking the front? They are different. I'm not sure about the rear. But methinks you come out much cheaper by going through Race Tech for heavier oil and/or springs and a Fork Emulator Kit than swapping out to a DL1000 front folk. Heck, just putting in heavier oil alone will make a Hell of a difference.

They are a different PNs (just referenced 2004, my year)

I have read in the past that the spring in the 1000 was slightly stiffer (1.5 more coils than the 650?), yet they could be swapped (and have been).

EDIT: This is the thread I read...
