Brake resevoir-purch what metal ?

Do you thinks its cast aluminum or pot metal

I dropped it and snapped off a mirror mount

I am thinking I would weld/braze it with alumiweld or the Bernzomatic AS3 but if pot metal ???

It's aluminum.

There's no such thing as "pot metal". It's a old term used for anything that doesn't seem to be aluminum or steel, but there's no useful definition.

An alloy common referred to as pot metal is covered at Zamak - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A lot of toys are made of the stuff. I can't imagine it being used on a motorcycle.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
