2012 Vee adventure opinion

Pretty sure i will sell my Vee before the end of the year. I've had a few bikes over the years and comparing my current ride to the previous ride (09 R1 Yamaha), I have to say I liked the R1 better. I've done the exact same trip over the same time frame (roughly 3600miles) and my bike just sucks. Even with a broken in Sargent seat, I thought my rear would fall off. I'm not even going to mention the wind/airflow issues. I was actually more comfortable overall on the R1 on the trips taken (stock seat). But my last trip to Florida convinced me that no matter what I seem to do the bike just doesn't work for me. Parked it and have to clean it after the Fla trip. Mechanically it's flawless. I'll post an add on the sale section when I can have enough time to clean the bike and take some pictures (which won't be before the end of the month). All I want is to pay off the loan. Probably owe $5900. 12 Vee adventure w/12000mi numerous farkles.

Well then, sell it and get what you like. It's your butt, your money, and your enjoyment. Each to his own.

Hell Wiking you might as well of just shot the pope as to dare suggest the DL has any shortcomings as compared to the noble R1.
Sadly, you cannot be forgiven, I am sure there is a group building a cross right now on which they plan to nail you.
But I do admire you being willing to venture what I'm sure will be an unpopular opinion.

The 700-1000 mile per day trips I've done (6) have been torture on mine. It dawned on me with the last 2 that this was not going to work for what my needs were. As was said to each their own.

I've done several 700-1000 days on various bikes I've owned , and can say with a certainty , that at the end of the day I was ready to kick each and every one of them off their kickstands......Yep , the DL has some shortcomings , but they are all correctable. That being said , if you dislike it so much , find what you do enjoy and ride on.

Lord , if I have to look like a Power Ranger , can it at least be Amy Jo Johnson?

change your seat (baldwin, russell; you look tall enough for one from your sigpic) and get a madstad bracket.

the vee is most comfy bike i've ever ridden, long and short.
