Looking for a strom 650

Hey guys.

Going to be purchasing a motorcycle in the fall. Right now I'm still recuperating form minor hip surgery. Mid life crises? I'm hoping to find guidance to narrow my search.

I want a to find a 650 with ABS. I not sure what years it was standard or when it was just an option. I assume The Strom's ABS is reliable if not then what years should I avoid? Lastly are their brake mods that screw up factory ABS?

When I go look at the bike is there anything specific I should look for? Damage, or essential modifications

I'm hoping to use the bike for commuting and eventually some touring.

Chips--Starting in 2007, Suzuki offered ABS in the 650 VStrom, but it was an option, and ABS models were hard to find. Starting in 2012, ABS became a standard item. As far as I know, the ABS is reliable. I have an '09 ABS Wee, and haven't found anything wrong with it. Of course I've only used it once, and it did just what it was supposed to do.

And welcome. Keep us posted on your search.

2007 onwards for ABS

The good thing about a Strom.. when it needs repair it will stop working... If its running ride it until it stops..

The ABS on my 2011 has kicked in many times and works well.

Works great on my '07.

Lighten up, Francis. If you can't take some sarcasm, an Internet forum is the last place you should be.
