Thank you, Seat Concepts!

After doing a Spencer seat modification that didn't cut it for me, then adding a gel pad, which still didn't cut it and a Fleabay Corbin that was too tall.....
I put on a Seat Concepts seat and was able to get a couple hours on it yesterday.

I'm very happy to say, it did the trick for me! The new seat is wide enough to support the outside of my sit bones which is exactly what I needed. Its firm like a Corbin and in a very good way.
It did raise the seat height, as they advertised. I've already lowered the bike 3/4" so I'm not sure yet if I'll lower it more. In the meantime, I've promised myself that there will be no UNPLANNED STOPS. As long as I can stop on fairly level ground, I'm confident I can prevent a sudden bike nap.
I'm grateful I was able to add this important upgrade at the $$ spent. I've just put on new tires, brakes and a chain/sprocket and Sonic springs.....wheh!

A slightly dissenting vote here. I got the Seat Concepts seat over the winter and stapled it onto the original seat base that had been just sitting around, since I had bought the Suzuki gel seat. However, the vinyl on the two year old gel is cracking and it needs repair, so the seat concepts seat is the one currently on the Strom (2010 650)
First the quality of the seat concepts seat is great for the price, and thanks to their video it went on perfectly. Thanks also to Harbor freight for their $22 air stapler.
BUT, for me, it's too low (I'm 6'5") and too soft. I was very happy with the taller and firmer gel seat. However, I still have my old Airhawk around, and with a bit more air to raise it up a tad, and the fact that it spreads my weight, effectively making the SC seat firmer. It works.
I post this as a bit of a warning to tall riders that like firm seats and don't have an Airhawk laying around the place.

Yes, I could see that as a problem for you tall guys. Glad I am short (5'8") as most of the world seems to be designed for us.

The seat concepts kit saved me from a much more expensive seat. I like it so much I got a kit or my Transalp. Oh yea, and the trick is leaving the seat out in the sun to soften up the vinyl.

I've had my Seat Concepts for a little over 1500 miles now. Quality is very good, but my first impression riding it was only so so. It's a wider seat than stock (which is needed) but I wasn't sure it was wide enough. BTW, I'm
5'11" 185 lbs. It is slightly taller than the stock seat. I thought I might need a Russell for a long term solution, but it seams the seat is breaking in and I am starting to warm up to it very well. Still don't think it's as comfortable as a Russell but I'm thinking I'll stick with it. It is slightly wider than a Sargent.

I would like to see some side by side before and after pics and to hear if it's any more comfy for a passenger.

No clue on the passenger, my wife has her own bike now, but another satisfied customer.

4-/12 hour ride this morning with only two very short stops, one to remove warm clothing when the temps rose, the other a drink of water and a snack, no problems.
