Summer Blend Fuel

summer blend fuel is here. Refiners are currently switching to make summer-grade gasoline ahead of the May 1 compliance date for refiners and product terminals. Summer-grade gasoline has a lower volatility than winter-grade gasoline to limit evaporative emissions that normally increase with warm weather and cause unhealthy ground-level ozone.

Based on one (fairly small!) fill up?

Not enough information on your "Fuelly" to make that conclusion.

..Tom

My Opinion:
Vee or V= DL1000 before 2014
Vee2 or V2 = DL1000 2015 to 2019
Vee3 or V3 = DL1050 2020 to?

My Stroms:
2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 205,000+ km, 127,000+ miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)
SMIDSY detailed report.

If there is any difference in summer blend vs winter, I sure can't tell by my mpg reports. Averaging around 57 mpg, but I have been using nothing but 100% gasoline in my DL650 since I bought it in Aug '14.

The only difference in the gasoline so far is the increase in the price of the stuff--up to $3.089 a gallon for 87 octane, ethanol gas. 100% gasoline doesn't seem to be available up here.

I always notice the gas mileage change in my cage after running a couple tanks of summer/winter fuel after the switch. Bikes, not so much.
