Strom moms

Just a callout to Moms everywhere who love us and tolerate - more or less - our motorcycles. It was almost 40 years ago that my mother let me get my first one (a Honda Elsinore). I think she worried then, and now at 79 years old probably still does. But she kept it inside, reminded me to put my gear on, and supported me.

Thanks, Mom.

I have been riding since the age of 9 with my mother's grudging tolerance. My father and I were both stunned when at the age of 16 she found my first street legal bike for me. Next day I was zipping off to the DMV to get my license (after the purchase of my first motorcycle helmet). I have now been riding continuously for 41 years and looking forward to many more. Thank you Mom for not letting your personal fear hold me back. Love ya!!

Lost my mom last September after a lengthy bad fight with cancer. We had her live with us the last few years, and she'd always come out to the garage and give me the "ride safe, be careful" quote every time no matter how exhausted she was. Went out for a ride this morning and gave it some thought that I won't hear those words this summer.

Appreciate your moms, fellow Strommers!

Lighten up, Francis. If you can't take some sarcasm, an Internet forum is the last place you should be.

My mom is 85 and in a home. I had bikes from 12 to 24 when I got married 30 years ago. My youngest turned 18 and it was time for me again!

Last fall when I bought my Wee, I stopped to see her and walked in with my helmet. Man she was not happy! I talked to her about it and said - Hey, if I get killed, tell them I was having the time of my life! It's better than being sick and in a room!

I told the same thing to my daughter. They both said - ok, Im fine with it. Then my mom said "Take me out front, I want to see it!" So I pulled up the Wee and she loved it!

Thanks Mom, I do all I can to ride safe!

I just tossed my 74 year old mom on my Strom a few weeks ago when I rode over to visit the parental units. She required some assistance to get up and down.

Disregard her awesome choice of attire! And note the gloves. Safety first!

Mom said "No bikes in this house" when I was a kid (as a direct result of my Stepfather burning my kid sisters leg on a borrowed dirt bike) in 1977. Got my first bike after I moved out at age 20 , and still ride today (22 years later). Mom still is not fond of it , but gave up to battle (guilt trips) years ago. Now she enjoys hearing all of the stories of where I've been (45 states so far).

Lord , if I have to look like a Power Ranger , can it at least be Amy Jo Johnson?

When I went to get my permit my mom said "I'm ok with this.... I think" later she mentioned that I was giving her grey hairs....

the day I got my license, I came home to tell her... with a bottle of hair dye in hand

8 years later, she still is "ok with it" she does buy gear for me for my birthday and christmas and such. (I pick what I want and she gives me money to get it)

Mom wasn't crazy about me getting a motorcycle, but allowed as how I was 18 and she wasn't going to stop me. Over a quarter of a century later I have had a number of bikes, but she's still on her first! (Nighthawk 250) that she's had for about 5 years now and rides the heck out of.
