Sidestand strength

With my Dan Vesel backrest installed I'm finding the easiest way to mount the bike it to put it on the sidestand and put my left foot on the left peg and stand up and swing my right leg over the bike. So for a moment the sidestand supporting my weight. Has anyone heard of a sidestand or it's mount bending or breaking from doing this? I do not have a centerstand.

EDIT I found a thread on this topic about a 2012. I have a 2005 Wee but I'd assume they sidestands are about the same. This thread can be deleted.

Nope - I've mounted every bike I've owned over the past 30 years in that manner.

EDIT I just saw your edit
