New to me Wee - can you tell me who makes/made the bash plate & crash bars on my bike?

That's a Pat Walsh setup.

Thanks!

Compared to other manufacturers products, how does what I have stack up, protection-wise? Are there better designs that offer more protection? I don't intend to try and tackle anything more intense than moderate fire roads/jeep trails with the bike but if there are better crash bars, I'd spring for them.

Personally, I would say it's one of the best kits you can put on your bike. The PatWalshes don't come up as high as givi's but they are much stronger. One of the few skidplates you can use a bike jack with.

135 000 kms on mine. They've bounced off a couple cars and a few stumps and boulders. I've re-bent them a couple times and welded the skid plate twice where it cracked. I regularly jack the bike up on it. So they've seen serious duty. I'd buy another set.

For the price, they're an excellent and durable setup. And, if you ask me, they follow the lines of the bike nicely.
