Anybody try the Moose Big Horn "tank" Bags on crash bars?

Has anyone tried to use these as a crash bar bag?:

BIG HORN TANK BAGS | Products | Moose Utility Division

Looks like with a bit of creativity for mounting them, could be a very low cost alternative ($30 to $35) to the $120 plus variety from other manufacturers for storage on the crash bars.

I think they are made strictly for ATV use. I have a pair on one of my 4-wheelers (they came "free" with the purchase of the machine). They flap in the breeze even at normal utility ATV speeds of 25 MPH or less. Not recommended for highway use at all -- at least not by me. You'd have to stuff each side with a gun, a rock, or a big sack lunch always!

Im going to use Bicycle Panniers on my crash bars for Alaska in a few months. My Brother came up with the idea. I went to local bicycle shop and for $20 bought the racks they mount on. Gonna mount the light weight racks to my Strom's crash bars with hose clamps so they are secure and then the bicycle panniers lock onto the bars. That way I'm able to take quickly on and off each night at the hotel.

Dancer - as they are built, the mounting would not work on the crash bars anyhow - my intent would be to fabricate some way to mount them securely to the bars. Seeing that these would be $80 ish less costly that it seems I can find any prefabricated alternatives, the bit of work would be worthwhile.

#34 - the bicycle panniers are a good idea! Post some pictures if you get it sorted out.
