No. Spring starts May 24. Summer is the third week of July. Then Fall sometime very soon after that. Followed quickly by winter: frozen extremities, SAD, pale withering skin, shoveling, no-riding and a vicious attitude towards southerners!

The vernal equinox is a liberal construct. The polar vortex is real.

The snow is down to two feet in the level spots, only five feet high where heaped by shovel, my street re-appeared yesterday but is presently being snowed upon. Speak not of spring with hurrahs in your voice.

But I'll be riding in two weeks. maybe.

You should have stayed in my area.. I spent Monday (my day off) chipping away at ice and digging a path throuhg the snow and ice from my backyard (where my bike was stored) to the driveway. Finally got it out front thinking of doing some stuff on it but to heck with that, I went for a short ride (about 30 km.) So I got a ride in before spring.

However, since that I have had snow and or freezing rain in my forecast each day so haven't ridden since. .

I'll be happy to trade with you. It still averages about -10 to -15 degrees F at night in Fairbanks this time of year. Daytime temps are getting up close to freezing. All of the roads are still covered in ice and packed snow.
