1st ride with Rox risers - and probably last of the year.

I got up this morning looked at the temp. (36) and told the wife I better go for a ride or I may go crazy!! :jaw drop:
I spent the last mild weather window last weekend installing 2" Rox risers and BB Storms and all I'd been able to do is sit on the bike like a 4 year old and pretend I was riding (No, I didn't make engine noises….) It's been a month or so since I've been out. Way too long!

So, I set the Rox risers to take the bar mostly back as I was looking for a less stiff arm position. As expected, they felt great! My position wasn't dramatically different either. Just enough.

They also allowed me to sit further back in the seat, so I can now feel the swoop against my tail bone. I was only out for about an hour and a half, but I'm hopeful that the Spencer mod that I had done last winter and didn't seem to help much previously, may turn out to be the improvement I was hoping for. I felt just better supported.

I did have an awkward stop where the bike wanted to nap on me. I kept it up, but felt like it may have been caused by the new ergo's. I pulled in to a nearby empty lot and spent 15 minutes doing figure 8's and a couple panic stops, to try an get some muscle memory with the new set-up. The forecast for the next week says no riding. Glad I took advantage.

Last ride of 2013

Yes, I know the "or I may go crazy" feeling (you guys in SoCal and other WarmLoCal[es] aren't subject to this strain of the virus). Glad you could get out. I thought about it the past two days, but my town has turned my road into "the Beach" = lots of sand & salt, so it stayed in the stable. Wearin' my new bone-dome in the house just isn't the same (and I don't make motor-sounds, either).

My last hop was errands on 24.Dec., and it was C O L D but at least the roads were mostly-dry. Tonight? Snow. Tomorrow and all this coming week, bitter cold and wind, sometimes single-digits, Fahrenheit. And an all-day storm on Thursday into Friday...

When's the mythic January Thaw scheduled? April? ;-)

I had to fight off an itch to go riding today. I miss it and it's only been a couple of weeks.

Looks like a week of sunshine happening here starting Saturday, but then it gets cold again. I have a GoPro 3+ black on the way, will be wanting to test that out on a ride pretty soon. Bike is all washed, so I won't take it out if there is salt/sand on the roads.
