13th Annual Rick's Eastern Rendezvous

I came across this rally on the ADV site and was wondering if anyone has been to one and what they thought of it. I read their write-up and it looks like pretty nice accommodations and food are included in the price. Pretty sure there are plenty of good roads in that area (Hampton, TN) if it's like the rest of the Appalachians. I went ahead and signed up for it, although I usually just wander off on trips by myself rather than go to rallys. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Looks like fun. Unfortunately that's going on the same time as the V-Strom Rally East

Beetle is correct........same weekend as our Annual Vstrom Gathering......has been the last few years, probably always will be. I've never been to the RR Rally, just looking at the pics/comments from previous rallys I suspect:

1. made up of more ADV dirt-oriented guys
2. made up of more die-hard campers than our bunch
3. lots of shenannigans go on during the rally.....which makes it fun!!
4. probably waaaay more beverages are partaken.....

Looks like a "hearty bunch" of guys who enjoy each other's company.....like us in many ways, and in some ways not-so. Sometimes you have to pick your battles........

Not sure how I missed hearing about it, but I have gone to the Ironhorse the past two years. This year it was a Triumph rally and the year before it was an adventure bike group whose names escapes me. Both were fun trips, neither time did I plan it to coincide with the rallys. Just one word of advice: if you camp and want to sleep, camp on the same side of the creek as the lodge, if you stay across the creek, the noise on the back patio can be pretty loud pretty late. Great place though, really nice facility.

I went to Ricks Rally a few years ago at another location. It was way fun and was more of a group gathering vs the stromtropper rally. Rides are well planned as well as after hours fun. You won't regret Ricks rally at all and the roads are much beter over there vs deals gap area.
