Tourmaster Synergy 2.0

Thinking about getting the Tourmaster Synergy 2.0 heated jacket. Internet prices seem to be at $211, anyone seen a better deal?

I had nothing but trouble with the synergy 1.0 product. To their credit, Tourmaster sent me 2 jackets and 3 controllers but ultimately I gave up in disgust and went with Gerbing.

If you buy Tourmaster, save the receipt!

YMMV of course.

I have the original Tourmaster vest(4+ years) and no problems. Though I have heard of many.
Bought the Cycle Gear(Sediki) full jacket 5-6 weeks ago. It's worked great on the 10+ rides so far. Much better than the vest. Right now its $159 and the controller comes free with it. Lifetime Warranty.

Go with Warm & Safe.... at checkout, for a coupon code use a motorcycle forum name and receive substantial discount.
Tourmaster heated stuff has a funky reputation, go with the best and if there's ever a problem you'll be looked after by Mike at W&S.

They had trouble with their early controllers years ago, my 2.0 series gloves and vest have been great. Ron

Both Princess BarbieŽ and I have Tourmaster 1.0 and are happy with them. They had controller problems when first released, but fixed the problem pretty quickly. We just brought our old controllers to the dealer and they were replaced on the spot with no questions.

I'd buy Tourmaster again. Good value.

Had Tourmaster Synergy II jacket and gloves. Both returned after a year after failing. Cheap external wires were the obvious issues. My Wife's gloves )Synergy II) also failed today..

My gut feeling is the cheap price reflects what you get. I now have a Warm n a Safe jacket and Gerbing gloves. The quality difference is obvious and it is well worth the extra you spend.

( In fairness to Tourmaster they were good at authorizing full refund to my dealer. We'll see if it's true with my wife's as she got hers before me and is out of warranty.)

Don't worry, be happy!

The winter of 2010 I bought a first generation Synergy heated vest and the controller failed after 4 uses. Called Tourmaster and they overnighted me another controller, no questions asked. It lasted another 4 or 5 rides then failed as well. Called them again and they acknowledged a manufacturing problem with the controllers and that they were being re-designed. However, the replacements were on back order for 6 to 8 weeks. That would basically mean it would arrive at the end of the short winter season here in South Texas. So I politely raised Hell with them and they agreed to ship me out a full heated jacket at a substantial 70% discount. The jacket uses a different style controller, and now 3 years later and probably 100 uses, it still works good as new.......

The bonus; about a month after receiving the jacket, I also received another controller for the vest in the mail, at no charge. I called Tourmaster to explain their mistake, and the rep advised me it was a bonus for my prior aggravation. But to be honest, I never used it as I now preferred the full length jacket, so I ended up selling the vest to a buddy who has used it for a couple years now with no problems.

So long story short, yes Tourmaster definitely had problems with the first generation controllers, but sorted it all out a couple years ago and they are as reliable as the next brand now. So if you have a Synergy product from a couple years back, call them and they will replace the controller with an updated model. They definitely stand behind their product so I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on a Synergy product again. For less than 1/2 the cost of the other guys, it's hard to beat.

My 3 year old Tourmaster Synergy vest with the included controller still works perfectly. Needed it today,
25° F. on the ride to get parts for my oil gushing automobile.

The Vee started right up and ran great.
