Stroms in the 2007 Iron Butt

The 2007 Iron Butt Rally final results are in--5 Stroms entered, all finished, 3 DL1000s and 2 DL650s. The highest placed was Brian Roberts on a DL1000 in 20th place, the highest placed Wee was Jim Winterer in 39th place. Overall winner was Martin Leir on a BMW R1200GSA.

And did anyone notice that a Harley Davidson Sportster came in third overall? The 1972 Shovelhead HD and the R60/6 finished as well. The Ninja 250 did not.

Congratulations to all the IBR finishers, especially those riding the DL models.

FJR's for the numbered entered percentage wise dominated the top ten and the top twenty. Great riders for all who finished.

In fairness, the Ninja 250 DNFed because Alan Bennett's tank bag, containing some of the documentation he needed for scoring, was stolen, putting him too far behind in points to have a chance of finishing, not because there was any problem with the bike. In 2003 and 2005 Ninja 250s finished. Talk about The Little Engine That Could . . .
