Sold the Road Glide This Evening
Like many, I rode for a few years in my late teens/early 20's. Then was off bikes for many years. As the children got older, the riding itch returned, and I scratched it 2 years ago when I purchased an 03 Road Glide. Thought it would be my ride for at least 6 - 8 years (College coming next year - ouch!).
About a year ago, I started enjoying not just Harleys, but the many fine bikes that are out there. Last winter, got the "something different, something lighter" itch. Kept putting it off, but finally started looking for an ABS strom in late May. Found one in Harrisburg, PA, and did the deal in mid June.
Have been procrastinating, but got the Glide cleaned up a week or two ago, and put it on Craig's List this morning. Sold it this afternoon. Got to ride it to the buyers house towards the mountains and the setting sun. Was a great last ride. I know Harley's get a lot of bashing here, but it sure has been a great ride for the last two years.
Sure wish I could have a stable, and have kept the Glide, but it's not to be right now (one day!).
So now, I'm a one bike dude again. The strom is awesome, and I've been getting it set up/farkled out and ready for some longer trips.
What a great hobby! Wonder what I'll have an itch for in 2 or 3 years??!!
Ride on, ride well.

And that has made all the difference."
