12v from where?

Hi all. I have a set of Acerbis handguards that can take a led strip and I'm thinking of fitting one. I can do it , but I'm also afraid of making some mistake with the voltage. The strip needs 12V and I would appreciate if smb could tell me exactly from whitch cable to give power to the strip. Has to be near the handguards.

I'm planning on using amber color and wiring the LEDs to the front blinkers. If you're looking for running lights, there are plenty of hot sources to tap in the fairing.

Yes, I'm thinking always on. Could you be more specific on which wires to choose? Headlights maybe? I'll be using two of these.

Scotch connector you imaged are ridiculous especially outdoors

You need to get real crimp push on insulated connectors before the blinker connectors so you can take the thing apart.

Note LED's have polarity so you have to connect them positive to positive. You won't do any damage connecting them backward they just wont go on then do it the other way

Polarity noted, and also no ridiculous connectors! What about soldering and that thermo-constricting meterial for the connections?
Is there a relatively 'easy' connector from which to get power?

Definitely stay away from those connectors, they don't weather well.

Can't tell you specifically where to get 12V, but would prolly avoid the headlights since there are two circuits there. Personally, I run a small power distribution hub to the fairing from the battery, but that's just geeky techie me.

Thinking out loud, tapping into the heated grip connector may be easiest. It's ignition switched and has both hot and ground wires.

I can't post a link or picture, but do a google search for Posi-Tap. It's a much better connector for tapping into wires.
