How many V-Stroms are out there?

Does anyone know how many V-Strom owners there are in the USA & Canada? I am having a heck of a time trying to find out the annual sales numbers.

I have no idea. Honestly you may never get Suzuki to tell either. The guys over on the TL forum have been trying for years to find out how many were sold so they could try and figure out how many are left. Suzuki has been in no way any help with that. From what I've heard they will not release the sales figures even on a bike the stopped making a decade ago. But good luck to you all the same.

Only way I found, with BMW anyway, is looking at bikes no longer in production. Like My R65LS. Some site listed the run at 3500 bikes.
If Current runs are continuous and if the model doesn't change the number count isn't in yet.
I doubt your state DMV mound release a number either. Stats like that may not be kept.
Ask the NSA, they seem to have their nose in everyones butt.

Probably a 50-to-1 ratio as compared to Harley owners in the Phoenix area. I do see a few Stroms, but it's just that, a few...

I was wondering if Suzuki ever posted unit sales numbers like that? If there are 33,000 members on this board that means they must have sold in pretty decent numbers.

Production Numbers

"The V-Strom has cultivated a loyal following in its decade of existence. Suzuki reports it has sold 46,300 V-Strom 1000 since its 2002 model year debut. Surprisingly, the V-Strom 650 has outsold its big brother by three to one, with 148,500 units moved since its 2003 debut (having been significantly redesigned for the 2012 model year)" from MotorcycleUSA.com.

In the 16000 miles I've ridden my Wee I've passed less than ten. My experience in seeing other bikes is about 85% cruisers (mostly HD's), 10% sport bikes and 5% other.

I ride a Goldwing and have had the same experience. No comparison to the HD world. But, there are still a lot of Goldwings out there. I suspect the same is true of V-Stroms.
