Suzuki "SOFT" Top Case Lock Part

Have been watching the forum for a while but now I would like to ask for some help. I know the Suzuki luggage issue has been discussed many times before but I could not find the information I'm looking for. I need a Suzuki "SOFT" top Case lock part.

The D-shaped plastic locking cam on the inside of the case, which is held on to the tumbler with a nut, is worn (broke) and needs to be replaced. I will not turn with the tumbler.

Tried the local dealership. The are not having any luck getting parts for the Suzuki "SOFT" hard cases. Also tried a local locksmith who told me I needed to get the part from Suzuki/SOFT or I could try to make one.

Sorry I can't attach a picture but can email one if needed. A

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wish I could give you some good news, but I think you are out of luck going through Suzuki. The lock sets do not include the cam, and there are no separate pieces available through Suzuki. IMHO, you have only 3 choices; find out who the original manufacturer is and see if you can persuade them to sell you the part, make your own, or find a crashed one to rob the part from. Myself,, I would try to make one.
I have used this stuff a lot and can attest to its good quality. It comes with molding clay so that you could pattern to old part and make adjustments for the worn away area.

Plastic Repair Kit

Or you could patiently form a new one from aluminum stock.
