stereo installation

Coming from the touring world I do miss my stereo. Has anyone tried to install one and is there any suggestions?

A couple of guys have tried different installs here but I don't know what success they experienced. Although I have a 500W system on one of my other bikes, I prefer headset bluetoothing to my phone or iPod while on our V or BMW. With a small fairing platform I think you will find the wind noise at higher speeds will carry the sound away on the V with open speakers

I am still low tech....old flip phone and no texting....The new modular helmet may cut down on the radio also...used to a half helmet.

Bluetooth headset and a little Pandora off my phone when in the mood for music. Superb sound quality. Not sure this bike warrants or is capable of a full blown touring stereo

Please. oh please

Kindly use ear phones/buds of some sort. They will be easier on your ears, and everyone else's as well. I just love it when someone on a bike pulls up next to me at a red light, and the stereo is blaring, either so they can hear it over wind noise or over the noise of loud pipes. Especially when the lyrics include a large portion of Carlin's words you can't say on TV along with related terms. I rather doubt such noise pollution endears motorcycle riders to the general public.

Generally I would be listening to right wing radio....AM...or on occasion classical or some rock. As far as warranted I guess it depends on how far you ride and if you can stand listening to nothing for hours. Once a week I take a 280 mile roundtrip that can get boring.

If I cared what the general public thought I wouldn't.....well really I don't care what anyone thinks that is why I ride a strom!

I love my Sena SMH10R helmet system. I can cruise down the road listening to music on my ipod that is in my tank bag or pocket, listening to commands from my Garmin 660 GPS, and answer/talk on the phone, and link to other inter-rider intercoms all at the same time. Great system.

Currently in the United Kingdom and looking for great rides. PM if you have suggestions.

A bluetooth headset is the way to go, there just is not enough windshield/fairing protection to allow for a quiet enough pocket for good sound. Can't really see how riding a Strom has something to do with not caring what somebody thinks.
