Put a little love in your heart...

I recently got a email about not starting the wee vs. vee debate again. As the most recent instigator of that topic (not on purpose). I would like to start a happy thread. When it comes down to it, wee or vee we both have great bikes that are almost interchangeable but for minor differences. I would ride with or enjoy a wee anytime.

Here Here! I've ridden with many Wee Stromers and they have been without a doubt wonderful people that I have enjoyed immensely. It seems the only place the division occurs is here. Why is that d'you suppose?

I sure like the Wee-Stromers... without them I wouldn't realize exacly how good my Vee is!

Just kidding (well maybe). Anyhow, when on the road, all Stromers are Stromers. I feel happy to see another one. I don't really care if it is 650 or a 1k (why would I).

I think that here it is a lot of fun to poke at eachother. 650's don't have enough. 1K's are compensating for something. Etc, etc. They really are both great bikes, Suzuki was smart enough to realize not everyone wants the same bike (and they forgot that for 2008).

So for me the 1K is the only logical choice. I want torque, power, and eating up miles on trips.

For my buddy in Seattle that commutes everyday and rides a little on the weekends on the highways and fire trails in that area... the 650 is clearly the right bike.

To each his own.

But for now... just remember, the 1K is the man's version...

And Hawaii!

It's cause all you big guys pick on us all the time! We're just little underpowered scooters to you and you pick on us unmercifully!

Just kidding ... I said much the same thing a year or so ago and meant it. Regardless of displacement they are both V-Stroms which is what this forum is about. We all bought the same basic bike and we all love them or we wouldn't be here. Underneath we are all brothers of the bike (or sisters as the case may be). I got the one that I wanted and presumably everyone else did to. I've never regretted my decision and I doubt that many others here have either!

I think I'm going to be sick, I much prefer the banter back and forth. How else can I act like an a$$hole, wait a minute, I am an a$$hole.
And Shep, don't be doing that goody two shoes stuff.

It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow.

OK, so I ride a 1K.....Still, after my divorce finalized and my ex had forced me to sell my TDM850 to pay off accumulated debt, I was riding a 1978 Honda 400 Hawk that I traded my Arai for straight up. At that time, I would have killed for a Wee, but there would have been no way to get one. Now I can have a nicer bike than the Honda. I chose first a Bandit 1200, then a Vee, but deep down I know I'd ride anything. The Wee is a fantastic machine and depending on the perspective you live day to day, all you'd ever dream of.

At the end of the day if you've touched the soul of another and gained knowledge of at least one new thing, then you are truly successful.

The whole wee/vee thing seems a little silly. Too bad we can't make some lighthearted jabs without starting a peeing war.

My own decision on which bike to buy came down to this: my old Concours dead in the shop with a blown engine; a vee and a wee on the showroom floor. The decision tree went something like this:

Sales guy: "So which one is it going to be?"

Me: "Eenie, meenie, minie . . . . "

The frightening thing is not dying
The frightening thing is not living
