Her first big ride!
As has been stated I bought my wee the week before last, took the day off after I bought it an rode to the top of pikes peak, that's just a quick jaunt for me though.
The cache needed to move east and the opportunity to get it jumped quickly, I departed at 6:30 am for a 365 mile trip estimated at 4.5 hours and an appointment to get the cache at 10am. A little about be, I am an avid sportbike rider so when I ride I keep a very spirited "pace" and when there are twisty canyons involve I can shave off a lot of time.
When I left Parker it was 40 degrees F, as I headed west the temps dropped, much to my luck the entrance to the Eisenhower tunnel the road had frost and upon exit of the tunnel there was snow and ice on the road and the temp with me riding was 15 degrees F needless to say I was freezing and you know cold is cold when you have your heated grips on high with winter gloves on and some of your fingers are going numb. My visor was Icing over on the inside from my breath even though I was trying to regulate my breathing it wasn't enough I had to constantly lift my visor and scrape the ice off the inside so I could see.
I made it to Grand junction at 9:45am so you could say I was flying pretty good down I-70.
When coming home I decided to take a long way home so I could enjoy some tight twisties thusly extending my ride time and mileage, by the time I rolled her into the garage I logged 600 miles for the day.
Best part is I met a new strom rider, got a good days ride in and I'm not tired nor does my back hurt, I love this bike!
Next time I will be sure to have the GoPro and I will make a cool video for everyone to enjoy. I have a really cool picture but can't post it yet till my count is higher, so to be continued.
