Battery

Went out to go to work this morning. Turned key, hit ignition, started to crank, then all went dead. Sort of like it shorted out. Any good ideas as to where to start looking or what happened?

You're going to need a multimeter. Start by reading this (my apologies if there is something similar or better on this forum!):

Is everything dark when you turn the key? Could be a fuse.

Battery may have died too, or the connections are loose.

A loose connection at the battery can do that. Instant battery failure is pretty rare. Often you get clues that it is on it's way out.
