It can't be measured on any conventional db meter, there isn't enough volume. You need to use a Stethascope to hear it.

Jeff, I was looking at at www.ridesafer.com as they have lots of horns and they measure at 4 inches!!!! seems weird but anyways, they have horns that are 125, 129, 134, and 139 is the Stebel. I bought the Stebel but havent installed it yet. I am worried it might be too loud especially when I give a warning beep to my buddies on harleys that I am coming by to play with the corners. They have me do that on my Bandit and when we ride thru cranberry bog country there are twisties thru the bogs and no side streets for danger and you can see for 1/2 mile in most directions and I figure getting off into a bog wouldnt be so bad!!!!

If all these after market horns are in this range above, then I expect the strom horn is MUCH lower. Knowing the stom's dB's would help me make a decision, etc.

I just read another post about using the headlight flasher switch for the Stebel and keeping the stock horn/switch and I like that idea alot!!!!!!! That would be easy to do too.

Whistler, sorry for my reply to you,,, I misread your post and I agree one dB sounds about right!!!!!!!!!!!!

riding home last night on the highway at 90mph I tried horn several times and I can barely hear it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, Jeff i would love to hear what you measure, at both say 1 and 10 feet???? Thanks in advance!!!!!

Had it since day one. Can't recommend it enough. And technically, Stebel rates it at 139 db.
