Anyone have experience with speedo recalibrators?

So I spent yesterday installing new Anakee III's and a speedo recalibrator. Got done, bike won't start. Unhooked recalibrator, still no start.

Seems awful coincidental to have some sort of failure at the same time I hooked this thing up, anyone ever have this happen or heard of such a thing?

Check the easy stuff first. Kill switch, maybe you bumped it? Bike in neutral, clutch in?

All checked. Probably should have mentioned that the clock display now says "FI", and the red light in the center is blinking. All fuses checked for continuity also.

There is a simple fix for this but I can't remember what it is, sorry. Use the google search on the home page and search FI light.
It's not in gear with the side stand down is it???

You have to check the FI code to pinpoint the problem. FAQ: Dealer Mode & FI Error Codes

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Is the kill switch on...? DAMHIK.

Taking it to a shop seems rather drastic. The speedo calibrator wouldn't affect anything that would keep the bike from running, but it's perfectly possible to accidentally unplug or otherwise booger up something else along the way.

Also, more information is needed than "won't start". Will it crank? What happens?

Which calibrator did you install, and how, and where? Is it plugged in to the right place?

What bike? I'm assuming a Vee of some sort.

2009 V. Kill switch not on. Will crank, will not start. Instrument panel reads "FI" in clock field and red LED is blinking. I checked every single connector I could get my hands on. Removed calibrator, same result. Disconnected/reconnected battery, same result.

Installed this calibrator: Speedo Tuner Speedo Tuner - Street Motorcycle 2009 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 - Motorcycle Superstore at the speed sensor plug in behind the frame on the left side of the bike.

The reason for the FI needs to be found. FAQ: Dealer Mode & FI Error Codes

Hmmm...bike started and ran fine before the tire swap and speedo calibrator? Betcha whatever the problem is finally diagnosed, you will end up smacking yourself for an oversight. One of those major "oopers" moments. Have you ever had one of these conundrums that keep you up at night only to awaken you from a deep sleep with the solution? I'd backtrack from the beginning and see if I accidentally pulled/yanked/snagged or otherwise damaged wiring while doing the work.
