Method to straighten bars?

I had some new springs installed and my bars are just ever so slightly not straight now. I fiddled with the riser set up but I am sure the fork tubes are not perfectly straight in the triples.

So what is the best way to get them everything lined up?

Simple....replace the steel flimsy pieces of crap with an aluminum bar instead.

I have Pro Taper bars on it. I don't think the bars are bent but rather the triples are not perfectly aligned?

If you had loosened off the pinch bolts when you where installing new springs or took the forks off its probable that the upper & lower tree aren't lined up. You should be able to visually see this if you look down from above.

A couple of things you can do.

You may need a helper. Loosen the pinch bolts on the top tree/forks and gently turn the handlebars until the upper & lower tree are lined up. Then retighten the pinch bolts.

Also if you had a fork brace on the bike ( take it off ) and if not, loosen the fender bolts. Make sure the fork tube pinch bolts are tight. Apply the front brake and pump the front end of the bike up and down a few times, then reinstall the fork brace or retighten the fender bolts. This will help line the components of the fork tubes with each other.

Hope this solves your issue.

The tech that installed the springs took the fork tubes out so I am pretty sure that the triple clamps are what is off. I don't think he had to touch the top nut.

Loosen only the bolts on the bottom triple tree and pinch bolts on axle. Push up and down on forks to help re-align. If nothing has been bent or damaged then it should be easily re-aligned. Torque bolts back to spec.

Well a few different options I guess

I did not see the last post before I went out. I loosened the two top bolts (I did not see your post hunt1moore) and put the tire next to a stud in the garage and applied a bit of pressure to the bars and now they are perfect. After the fact I undid the axle pinch bolt and brace to make sure that was not binding.

No problem. Upper or lower just not both.
Loosening the axle pinch bolts help with making the forks parallel.
