I ever so humbly apologize

To all the seasoned, die hard vstrom riders who take the time to school greenhorns like me on how to unlock the potential of these bikes, I take off my greasy cap, cast my eyes down at my dirty boots and ever so humbly say "I'm sorry". WHY!!, you ask. OK, about 2 months ago, I bought a 03 vee. It ran OK, with the usual pop, stutter and vibrate stuff I read about on here. So, after a couple of weeks, I tackled my first TBS. It ran better but still not all that great. Then about 3 weeks later everything went downhill. I tuned and tweaked till I was out of my tweak'in mind. I began to think this forum was ran by Suzuki and they were all laugh'in their tail off at me. THEN!!, I read about a fuel pump flow test. So I checked mine--less than 600ml in 30 seconds. This weekend I did the external fuel filter mod and took it for a spin. I haven't had a smile this big on my face since I was 17 and my boss let me drive his 429 cobra jet torino--well--there was that time I had a date with---never mind. Anyway, It will now pull the front wheel off the ground, blow a hole in the wind and is super smooth around town. Once again "I apologize", how could I ever have doubted you. THANKS a million and God Bless.

If you're really sincere abut it, you'd entertain us a bit more with details of this hot date!!!

THE DATE!!--I've lived almost twice as many years since that date as I had before it-- BUT--she was 5'2" and French.
THE FILTER--Just finished it last night so I haven't had time to put many miles on it. I used the wix 33310 filter (smaller would be better) and I'm not happy with the way I had to route it. I'll have to keep an eye on it and make sure it's not rubbing a hole.
