Question Stock exhaust weight

I was talking Stroms with my buddy and he was interested in reducing the weight of his Strom by replacing the stock exhaust. So, the question is, how much heavier is the stock exhaust than say the Leo's or Staintunes?

I've pulled some stock exhausts off bikes and they must have been made out of cast iron. I've read the Strom exhaust is made of Aluminum(?)

I just put the Akropovics on mine, and I can tell you....the stock ones are HEAVY!!!

Seriously, problem a 20lbs weight savings.

I was told by Two Bothers theirs is 14 lbs lighter then stock. How does Leo's take another 6+ lbs off? wow. I like that.

They don't....I understand it is around the 2Bros weight reduction. The Akro's are titanium, so they will weigh less. Leo's and 2Bros are aluminum, allot of others are stainless. I "think" the only aluminum part of the stock exhaust, is the outer heat shield. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. But....the exhausts sure are heavy buggers.

Leo's will give you a 14-16# weight reduction. It makes a pretty significant difference especially since the weight is so high and back on the bike - it seriously lowers the CoG and moves it forward a bit.

I never actually wieghted them but I've still got the stock ones on the shelf in the garage. Now that you all have my curiousity up I'll go out and put them on a scale.

BTW - If anyone wants them I'll sell them to you for $50+shipping. I cut the pea shooter off before I took them off the bike but other than that they are in great shape.

Thanks

Thanks for weighing them out PEEWEE. 25lbs for stock will be a good reference point.
