Givi V46

I used a small Givi "Traffic" top box for the last 10 years. I found it was indispensable. I sold this faded top box with my last bike.

I found I really missed having a top box. I couldn't carry a thing on the Strom.

After studying the Givi products, I bought a new V46. This is the best top box I've ever owned. Some of the real advantages are:

1) The latch can be unfastened with one hand. This is great if you're carrying things in the other hand. I didn't realize what a nice feature this is until I used it some.

2) The V46 holds quite a bit. 50 lbs bag of dog food, no problem. 12 pack of Miller on sale, no problem.

3) The v46 is quite aerodynamic. It doesn't seem to affect the bikes handling at all.

4) On my old "Traffic" Givi, the top of the box became faded over the years. The V46 has a replaceable top, so you can change the box's color, or just replace the faded top.

5) I like having the option of putting a rack and tail lights on the V46.

All in all, I'm very pleased with this newer style top box.

Not affiliated with Givi, just a happy customer.

+1!

I love it too! Great topcase and it WILL hold 2 full-face helmets!

I love mine. Paired with e-21 sides, you can pack enough gear for a week road trip easy, and still have room for souveniers. I don't understand how you can fit two full face helmets in it however. My Shoei X-11, or Scorpion barely fiit by themselves.

I have the V-46 and agree with most of the positive points made. I don't like the latch. Sometimes it can be a pain in the a**. I would have preferred just a more basic type of latch. JMO.

Is the latch arm plastic, or metal?

1+ on the V-46.

I also can't fit two helmets in it though... probably due to my big head. :-)

It does hold about anything I need, and it seals very nicely.

Sorry, I need to correct myself.

I can fit my full-face helmet in it (cheapy KBC TK8) and my spouse's 3/4 helmet with face shield. It takes a little shoehorning but I can get it done.

I agree it looks like it could be tight with 2 FF's depending on the size of the melon.
