VSRI happy and sad news

VSRI forum Community & Staff announcement

The happy part is VSRI will remain active and continue to be a great resource for V-Strom riders. I can't begin to count how many times I've posted a link to VSRI to answer a question.

The sad part is that John Weldon's health no longer permits him to be as active in supporting V-Strom riders and VSRI as he would like. He is my mentor and can't thank him enough.

Verticalscope is picking up support of VSRI and has been as thoughtful of John's wishes as I could hope.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Sorry to hear about John's health. He's always seemed like a good guy and quite knowledgeable. Glad to hear VSRI will live on

I saw that too..........it sounds like John is content with the forum being handled off to VertScope. I hope so. He "is", and always will be, VSRI.... even tho I have not been a member there very long......I hold him in the upmost "Vstrom Regard".....

John Weldon

John Weldon is an incredibly generous guy that has spent countless hours of his time and energy helping people. In my case John dropped what he was doing in 2008 in the middle of my trip to go dig in his spares for a part I needed and then rush to get it shipped off to Fedex before the end of the day, when I was stranded in Moab. Also spent time on the phone with me helping to make sure he was sending what I needed.

I'm grateful for all he has done for this community, as I am grateful to Greywolf for all he does on this site. Many thanks John and Pat.

I'm grateful that VSRI will go on, but it will be a little empty without Johnofchar.

John isn't gone yet. He's giving up running the hardware and business end but he's still posting as health permits.

Thanks for the update Pat, I do not frequent much over there these days, but John is no doubt MR VSTROM. You and him are to be commended and to be thanked over and over for all that you have done for our community.

John's knowledge of V-Stroms is inmeasureable, Mr Technical! Hope the forum stays true and his health improves.

I know we all wish the best for him.

I can beat the Paramedics to my crashes by at least 10 minutes.
