2012 DL1000 question about exhaust and pcv

Hey guys I'm new to the forum but have been following for a while. I've gained some great knowledge by researching on here and I appreciate all the helpful tips. My question is about aftermarket slip on exhausts for dl1000 and power commander 5. I'm pretty much sold on the Akrapovic titanium slip on. As far as i know it should fit a 2012 even though its advertised to fit a 2002-2009. Does anyone have an Akra with pcv and k&n filter? I looked on powercommader.com and I couldn't find a map for that setup so I was wondering if it would work ok. Any feedback is appreciated and/or suggestions. Thanks!

Don't buy into the K&N hype IMHO, stick with the stock filter. There are a ton of maps on this forum, download one and play around with it.

i can confirm that the akras fit. i have them. when i got mine, the claimed it only fit up to an earlier year. the Vee's exhaust has not changed.

have not added a power commander yet. other than a sweet friggin sound and decent weight savings high up, the akras have added zero to the performance and i suspect that over an equally tuned stock bike--PC or not--will do very little in the way of performance.

You will gain some grunt and lose some weight with the acro's.

All I would consider was to save money and go with the PC111 as the extra features of the PC5 are useless on the Vee :-)

Oh, and the money you save can go towards a dyno run to tune the PCIII

I like the idea of saving money, and a dyno run would be the way to go if I had some extra cash. I appreciate the feedback on the akras performance. For sound alone I would enjoy a slightly meaner sounding exhaust. From what my research tells me the akras are nice but not obnoxious.

When I looked for a pc for my bike the only compatible one was the v. It's showing that the pcIII goes from 02 to 08... PCV 09 and up. Is that just a marketing strategy or will a pcIII fit all vee years?
