Ready to buy-catch 22

HI all, 1st poster in here and I discovered a bit of irony wrapped up in a catch 22 surrounded by a conundrum. Seems, in order to strain out 1st post sellers that I.m mute in the FS/Wtd sections for 3 weeks/20 posts. I'm the perhaps rare case where I'm ready to buy now but for this rule, am relegated to feebay or adv, etc and won't likely be buying one of your FS stroms, tantalizing as they are. Looks like our love affair won't be a fiduciary one but will be milking you all for info as I get comfy in the new wee saddle. And I'm still considering a new one and spend my next month's income farkeling.

Just a hint to the moderators that be.

You aren't able to post in there, but you should be able to contact the sellers with a private message no? I would be surprised if that wasn't possible either.

I believe they just want to prevent someone coming in to sell an item and then vanishing forever after. They want real contributors.

Tell us what your budget is.. Someone may be able to contact you too.

Best of luck with your purchase.

I can understand blocking sellers with a minimum post count, but also wonder why a buyer can't post a Wanted advert.

We should be encouraging prospective new Strom owners I'd think.

Apart from the aforementioned PM option, I think you can also become a paid up or "Premium" member by paying the membership fee and then have full access to all sections and features of the forum here immediately.

I understand and agree with the no join to sell policy. PM's are a great way to contact members here.

So I can boost my count to 20 by thumbsucking/whining about the wanted policy...!

PMs make the most sense, thanks.

No join to sell makes sense. No join to buy only hurts existing members, some of whom have contributed greatly to this forum.

Yet another dumba$$ rule by the owners...

I guess it prevents trolls, flamers, and other turds from stinking up the joint though.

I have been here for a couple months now, but still do not have 20 posts. However, I've been successful in purchasing two items from the For Sale thread by PM'ing the sellers. I can understand the minimum requirement for being able to sell and it hasn't hurt my ability to purchase. YRMV

And PMs keep the listing down the list and don't bump them up to the top to garner more interest. Not as big a deal here as in ADV with the massive activity there though.
