My Corbin is peeling!

My Corbin has less than 2000 miles on it and the top "carbon fiber" layer is peeling! Since I am not the original owner of the seat , Corbin will not honor the warranty and to redo the seat is $242.50! Do I have any options? Has this happened to anyone else? I have not done thing weird to (on?) the seat to cause this...

i have had a number of corbins over the years, and none of them have done that. probably a "feature" of faux carbon fiber.

they DO fade ... the colors wash out over time ... but they should not peel or crack under normal use.

Carefully "remove" the faux carpet fiber cover?

There's a nice leather seating surface hiding under there. I've not had the problem you're experiencing, but I do know that the "carbon fiber cover" is simply a covering over the leather. Do they glue it on, or is it only stitched 'round the piping? Hmmm.....

Let us know how this turns out pleez!

Have a Corbin with backrest for 3 years and other than normal wear and tear no problems. The $240 is less than half of a new one so if you like the seat it may not be that big of a deal.

When in doubt, just gas it. It may not solve the problem but at least it ends the suspense!
