Question Two questions and an observation.

The last few days, I have been riding in some fairly heavy winds. Both cross winds and along the line of travel. I have seen many folks complain about the effect that wind has on these bikes. I noticed that the wind blows me around quite a bit but the bike is fairly steady under me. Now this may be due to the fact that I am loading the bike with my fat ass at 250#, but I still have not felt any heavy movement from the bike.

Will the fork brace I have read about help keep the front end a little steadier when cornering with less than ideal road conditions? With any grooving of the pavement or any unevenness, I feel a little “wiggle” in the front wheel. It’s just enough to make me a little uneasy, not really a seat grabbing experience. Will the fork brace help in these conditions, or is it for balls to the wall riding?

With the last point in mind, am I the only one who finds that their favorite stretches of asphalt are almost all fourth gear roads?

DivideWee,

The KB Fork Brace will help the front end seem very planted. So will adjusting the front and rear suspensions for your riding weight. Something else that helps tremendously is to lower the front forks 15 mm in the triple tree pinch clamps.

With regard to the "front end wiggle" you are feeling, I would have to say that is probably transmitted wiggle from too tight a grip on the bars. When you ride in wind, while hard to do, it is best to loosen your grip on the handlebars. Believe it or not, the bike will come through just fine!

On the 4th gear issue . . . . . 16 tooth front and 43 tooth rear sprockets will fix that issue! I know it sure did mine!
