No parking/running lights??

I noticed on my last SV650 and now on the DL that it comes complete without running lights. I alluded to this in someone else's previous posting, but felt I had to address it.

Ever see a car with one headlight or anything with no running lights coming toward you? Kinda hard to see the outline of the shape of that vehicle to get its *signature*. It's what our bikes look like. I know we have twin lights, but the effect is still the same.
On my SV, I took 194 bulb sockets and installed them inside the fronts and presto! Instand parking lights. I ran a wire to the ignition so they came on with that.
Looks like this will be my *farkle* to the new bike.

I agree. Running light should be standard equipment. If you do install them, post some pics and instructions. Thanks!

I agree with the need for running lights. I had a Meanstreak prior to this bike and the forum got together and figured out how to do a running light setup. On the Strom is seems reasonable that it could be done too.

We used two relays to rewire the turn signal circuit. These relays were hooked up so they were in the normally closed position, power was constantly fed from the red running light to the blinkers. When the blinker was activated the power pulses that would have made the light blink, now open the relay momentarily to make the (now running light) look like a blinker.

I just bought a combination of running lights/flashing brake lights from KRISS.COM

They work great but you do have to tap into the wire harness

Nice stuff on that site. I think when I get time I will take my chances with two $5 relays and some wire.
