Helmets & windshields

When I first got my new DL1000 just Tuesday, I had an older model SHOEI RF200. The wind kept closing the shield at 60-70 mph. I noticed quite a bit of buffeting. Moved the windshield up as far as it would go and reduced the buffeting.
Today, I went for a 55 mile ride (still breakin' it in) and wore my quad helmet. The buffeting is all but gone and the visor of course doesn't come down. I think its going to be ok now and I won't have to spend 200.00 on a different windshield. Anyone else try switching helmets?

I've tried to say this for over a year. Some get it, some don't.

It's ALL about the helmet. If you want real sweet, get an RF900 or 1000.

Pure smoothness and instead spending money on large silly looking pieces of lexan, you are protecting your noggin with a VERY comfortable, non-fogging, quiet helmet.

Glad you figured that out so quickly. The other good solution is to chop your screen down by about 3-4" and put it in the lowest position.

Yup.. went from an older HJC to a Shark Air Fantasy. HUGE improvement. Visor is self closing at about 125Km/hr which is kinda annoying but not surprising since I'm 6'4".

Nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced.
