How Much $$$$ Do You Have In your strom

I have "posted this in my head" for months, but now it is here.

The fact that the V-Stroms are a great value is nothing to be debated here. We all agree it is one of the best (if not the best) MC for the money.

Many of us have bought farkles for our stroms based on opinions by other members, and many of us have saved considerable money on those farkles by the same advice. Many dealers have cut us breaks too.

My purpose of this thread is not to let you brag about how many doolers you have in your bike, but more of something to satisfy my curiosity.

So if you want to tell us, post an estimate as to how much you have invested in your bike. Don't include stuff like taxes, license fees, insurance, etc. If you want to include your ATGATT expenses, make that seperate.

You don't have to break down everything piece by piece either. Just an estimated total.

Let's keep the fun going here!

Without a breakdown... Almost $2,200 to date. Outside of the suspension, I'm close to being done - maybe another 2 - 3 hunnert - that I know of. Still, I have a long way to go before I can match my wife's closet farkles that consist mostly of Feragamo, Choo, Pliner...

Right around $2600.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at

I will not answer that on the grounds that I might incriminate myself!

Actually, many years ago, I found it a wise thing to NEVER keep track of how much money you have in a project of any sort. It will scare you if you do! Back when I was NHRA bracket racing, I tried never to keep records of how much this part cost, or those tires or anything. That would have gotten in trouble with S.W.M.B.O. (She Who Must Be Obeyed)!

I got a great deal on the bike, put the things in it to make me happy and other than that, I really haven't kept track!

I sleep much better at night not knowing!

$30 - Dual star heated grips.

What can I say? I'm pretty happy with my Wee.

I did buy the bike used and the previous owner put on some stuff:
?? - Renthal bars
?? - Customized TL-1000 windshield (I think he had a spare in the parts bin)

I will be adding a new seat, and some luggage for a trip this summer.
