Stalling Problem with Brand New DL1000????

Hello All,

I'm a brand new DL1000 owner and have been really enjoying the bike for the first two weeks I've had it......today I went out for a one hour ride and the bike stalled on me 3 times....always as I am slowing up for a corner or traffic light......just stalls out completely, it restarts immediately and I'm off again but a little unnerving when it happens it traffic...any ideas??

Cheers,
Gary

Very common on new 1000's. They are really tight. Make sure it's idling at 1200 rpm. It will stop stalling on it's own very shortly once you get a few miles on it.

Along with the idel, check the Throttle Body Sync.(TBS) They seem to be way out from the factory.

Totaled on June 9 2012 08 Victory Vision Tour Premium.
No longer riding due to injuries on June 9 2012.

ADD FUEL! Mine stalled until I did the TBS, but it still did it every once in awhile until I TFI'ed.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll give it some time and if it doesn't go away I'll have them look at it at the 1000km service.

Hey, I'm also a new K6 1000 owner and I had the same problem. I now have 1000 miles on it in less than a month of ownership. It did go away for me after about 400 miles.

I first stalled mine about 200 feet away from the dealership. No problem, just whipped in the clutch and hit the starter again and kept going - didn't even stop. But it was annoying when it kept happening again and again and again!

I also had problems with the shift hanging up in neutral when going from 1st to 2nd, but that has now seemed to disappear as of yesterday.

Ride and enjoy!

I was wondering about the 1-2 shift, thought maybe it was my size 12 loafers...my Marauder did the same until it was well broken in.....

Put at least 1-2000 miles on the bike before you jump to any conclusions.

In the meantime, check idle speed ~ 1200 rpms and TBS.

You'll be fine.
