The Mfg date on my DL

The black sticker on the side, the one that gives all the bike details, VIN number, tire pressures, weight capacity..

In the upper right it has a date of manufacture. In my case, my bike was manufactured in June of 2006. At the dealer when I purchased it, it was advertised as an '07.

Can someone explain why this is legal?

also, can/will any of you verify that the same is true for your DL's as well?

2007 is the model year not the MFDate. Every consumer product is that way.

It's true... ever notice that automobile cycles are similar... ie, the 2008 models are streaming into the showrooms NOW. IE, you can get a brand new Subaru Outback, 2008 model, TODAY. So naturally, it's manufactured in 2007.

The tenth digit of the VIN is the model year. If you have a 7 in that spot, it's an '07, 6 is '06, etc. MY 2000 and older use letters.
