Talking Vstroms = You either Love em or Hate em!

Hey Guys and Gals,

Out of all the bikes I've ridden the strom is the coolest one so far. I've been looking at used stroms for 2 months now hoping to find a decent clean one at a good price. Funny thing is that they are somewhat hard to find! I had a post about finding an '02 with 1400 miles. Decided to pass as I figured it would lead to future problems as the bike basically sat around for years without moving.

I have noticed that a few pop up on Cycle Trader or Craigslist but seem to disappear fairly quickly! The ones that do stick around are Salvage titles or have many miles on them....

I went to my local dealer and asked him to call me if he got any used stroms. He stated that in the last 3 years the dealership had NEVER gotten a strom trade-in and that the problem was that not too many are sold and the ones that do get sold are ferociously coveted by owners unwilling to part with them! He also said that when someone comes in to look at bikes without any particular model in mind it is extremely RARE to talk the person into a Strom as many of them see an ugly bike. I think they are really distinctive and better looking than all the angular racer bikes.

So, I'm still on the prowl for a decently clean used one. I don't even care if its a 650 or 1000 at this point as I am sure I will have fun on either one. I've got a few calls in so I am waiting to hear back from the sellers as I have money burning a hole in my pocket and a free weekend coming up!

Just thought I would pass that along although I'm sure all you current owners can attest to this.

Hope to join you guys soon!

Gr8fuljack, good luck in your search for a Strom. Can't say I love or hate my Wee bike. But I can say with no reservations that I love the freedom the bike allows me to enjoy. As an absolute bonus of riding the bike, I have met other riders from all walks of life, made new friends, travelled the world through ride reports and grown younger in my retirement not older. My Wee bike is not particularly pretty or even clean and shiny but it is mine and will remain so for a long time hopefully.

That may work Whistler! I live in wine country so grapes are plentiful!

Anyways, I am going to see one tomorrow. '02 DL1000 blue with a few farkles and decent miles so we will see if I'm a new strommer or not!

Thanks guys!

Hi Jack

Tell us where you are so that somebody can speak up if they see one.
