Angry First damage to my 'Strom

Had a crappy start to my day today. I managed to mar the beautiful paint on my 'Strom. Very unusual way though! I shoot competitively on weekends and I rode my '07 Wee-Strom to a pistol match this morning. I was using the seat as a table to load up my magazines. As I was loading my last one, the base pad came off one of these Glock mags, smacking the tank along with about 17 rounds of 9mm cartridges! Damn. I got lucky, only a couple tiny chips in the paint. Found the base pad, but lost the mag spring. No biggy, just glad it didn't hit me in the face. I cleaned all my mags out late last night and I guess I didn't get one of the pads on right. Now I have a couple of chips in the gas tank to remind me to be more careful checking my gear over before a match! It was a good match anyway and a nice afternoon for riding!

AS F. Gump, would say, 'it happens. My first scratch came while I was cleaning the garage. Without thinking I tossed a small plastic child's sand bucket over my head. It was like one of those super slow-mo scenes fro the movies. As soon I I let it go I realized what it was going to hit and I turned to watch the bucket bounce off the tank fairing. Put a small scratch in it. Then I proceeded to break my shop broom on the floor.

"If you ride it, they will come!" At least the scratches will.

I found that a magnetic tank bag will not only hold securely, but also attract anything known to man made from ferrous metal - much harder than the paint on the V-Strom - to it.

One day during detailing the bike, I noticed a little scratch on the tank under where the tank bag sits. When I looked at the bottom of the tank bag, I saw a paperclip that was "missing in action" from my office! I hate those stowaways.

Hey, with the tank bag in place, only I know it's there!

I knew there was a reason for banning guns. There you are - they damage your Strom.

AustinMike, I spotted the problem right off...change to a Kimber.
Does it get much better, ridding your strom to a pistol match.
Enjoy,
Jim

Oh, I have one of those too. The metal mags would have done some serious damage though!

There is no reason to ban guns! Just look what that type of thinking has done in history.

If you think banning guns will make our society better to live in, please do some studying of places that have done just that. I'll bet the folks in Australia would like to change their latest change in status!

The day that only law abiding citizens own firearms, it will once again become a polite society!

H'mmm, do you think we could perhaps put those two joys together, Strommin' and Shootin'? Perhaps a course of fire where you have to ride your Strom around on shooting the targets. Of course, time would be one of the elements.

? ? ? ? ? ?
