$#^%*^() sticker!

I brought home my baby today. It's a Vee. She sure is homely tho -- reminds me of a pregnant guppie -- I love it!

Got a serious problem with this darn sticker on the gas tank. Spent about 20 minutes coaxing it off with my fingernail. Now there's a glue-type gunk left behind. How do I get this crap off?

I vote we line up the corporate attorneys for these bike companies and superglue one of these stickers to their forehead. You 'reckon they would quit this nonsense then??

NO! It's the same people that need the shift pattern stamped in the sidecover that require these informative applications. I'm waiting for the gun manufacturers. to have to sticker guns. "Do not point this in your face" type thing.

Try some WD-40, just spray a little on there and let it soak. It takes a while though.

Or, if you're brave - a little lacquer thinner will take it right off - pretty much immediately. It "shouldn't" hurt the paint, but you'd definitely want to try it in an inconspicuous place first.

Good luck!!

Goo Gone, FTW! Just used it on my sticker goo a couple weeks ago and it worked like a charm.

The gun manufacturers DO put their warning right on the barrel and they don't use stickers... they stamp it right into the steel so you can't take it off!!

Do an advanced title search on stickers. Where is that "beating a dead horse" emoticon? Liquor is quicker. Use rubbing alcohol on a rag and give it a little time to work. Then finish with WD-40 as leftover glue gets sticky again when the alky evaporates.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

charcoal lighter, lighter fluid or kerosene. Breezes right off and will not hurt paint.

WD40 or Goo Gone. Next time, lightly heat the sticker with a hair drier, it will all come off in one piece. Don't over heat.
